Metal cutting machine tools are important equipment support for industrial development, and are widely used in many fields such as machine tools, automobiles, aerospace, ships, power equipment, agricultural machinery, engineering machinery, railway locomotives and so on. According to the latest statistics from the National Bureau of Statistics, the cumulative production of metal cutting machine tools in China reached 480,700 units in 2018, and the output in the first quarter of 2019 reached 121,000 units, continuing the downward trend since 2017, but the decline has narrowed.

Among all the provinces and cities that produce metal cutting machine tools, Zhejiang Province is the country's largest production area for metal cutting machine tools. Industry concentration has increased since 2019. Similar to the production volume, the sales volume of metal cutting machines in China also continued to decline. The production and sales rate in the first quarter fell to 92.8%. The industry believes that in the "internal and diplomatic difficulties" situation, China's metal cutting machine tool industry is still facing downward pressure in 2019.
