[How does the carbide bit work?]
Release date:[2022/7/28] Is reading[473]次

Carbide drill is a kind of equipment used in drilling engineering.

The Carbide drill  breaks the rock by the bit weight and the impact load produced by its own rotation. In rock drilling, cemented carbide bit is subjected to high frequency impact load, torsion, bending, stretching, compression and other composite stresses, and under the environment of high-speed rotary collision, it is subjected to wear and corrosion of rock, rock powder and ore water and other working media.

The cone bit used at home and abroad is mostly three cone bit. This bit is characterized by a wide and uniform distribution of axial and impact loads, the use of effective space, and smooth drilling. The size and shape of carbide teeth for cone bit must be suitable for rock characteristics, requiring good wear resistance, high strength, and not easy to fracture and break. The carbide teeth used by cone bit mainly include spherical teeth, cone ball teeth, wedge teeth, edge wedge teeth and flat top teeth used for wheel back and claw tips, etc.

Generally, cone bits drilling into very hard rock mainly use spherical teeth, weight on bit is 892~1339MPa, speed is 50~80r/min; The cone bit for drilling hard and medium hard rock uses cone ball teeth, the bit pressure is 714~1071MPa, the speed is 60~100r/min; Cone bits drill in soft and moderate soft formations with wedges or edge-wedges at pressures of 535 to 803MPa and speeds of 80 to 120r/min.

There are four base types of cemented Carbide drill s: solid cemented carbide bits, cemented carbide indexable inserts, welded cementedCarbide drill s, and replaceable carbide crown bits. Each bit has benefits suited to specific machining conditions.
